I am pleased to report that we have now completed this engine rebuild...


Machining out valve seats	Corroded jackets will be welded up and reshaped prior to surfacing

Back from the blasters, the news is not good. In fact, this is officially the worst starting point we have ever had for an E Type body restoration. We have our work cut out for us with this one!


	Major rust everywhere





Heavy collision damage at rear	Boot compartment has obviously been crushed in a major collision in the past

Boot lid has rusted through from the inside	Rear chassis rails where IRS mounts are cracked


Impact was strong enough to kink rear chassis rail	After acid washing, bare metal protected with epoxy sealer

Even before we send this E Type off for blasting, we already know it is among the worst we have seen. Not only is it extremely rusty, but it has also suffered from major accident damage, especially at the right rear corner. The car should be back from the blasters in about a week. Watch this space!
