In partnership with Ross Pistons, Classic Jaguar has developed what we believe to be the finest Jaguar piston in the world. Over the years our engine building program has installed pistons from just about every manufacturer who has ever made a Jaguar piston. Finally, in our quest for the ultimate in quality, performance and consistency, we decided it was time for us to design and produce a piston worthy of the time and effort we put into our engine rebuilds at Classic Jaguar. We are therefore pleased to present our exclusive line of Team CJ forged pistons.
Design features
Team CJ forged pistons are available for all first generation Jaguar 3.8 and 4.2 engines, as well as all Jaguar V12 engines. Team CJ six cylinder pistons are available for standard and oversized bore sizes. All Team CJ V12 forged pistons are .010" oversized. Domes and compression heights have been designed to create a compression ratio of approximately 9:1. In our calculations, we have made allowances for the reduction in deck height and reduced combustion chamber size caused by the machine surfacing of both the engine block and cylinder head, respectively. Team CJ forged pistons are significantly lighter than OEM cast pistons, reducing mass by as much as 100g per piston.*
All Team CJ forged pistons are supplied with top quality rings, fitted gudgeon pins and spiroloc retainers.

Material specifications
Team CJ pistons are forged from 2618 billet bar stock that has been heat treated and aged to a T61 condition (2618-T61). 2618-T61 is the material that is used by all premium racing piston manufacturers where fatigue resistance and durability are of prime importance. This material has less than 1% silicon particulate content. High silicon content pistons (forged from 4032 or MS75, for example) will not stand up to the most extreme stress placed on many racing pistons. If a crack starts to form in a high silicon piston it will continue until the piston experiences catastrophic failure. Simply stated, adding sand to aluminum only makes it more brittle. 2618-T61 also keeps its shape better than higher silicon content pistons when subjected to extreme heat and pressure. For these reasons, 2618-T61 was the obvious material choice for our Team CJ forged Jaguar pistons.
