Note: From 1968 onwards, most Jaguars were designed to pick up the tachometer signal directly from the distributor. In this case, for the tachometer to function normally when using the Ignition 123 distributor, the tachometer will have to be modified internally. This service is offered by most (if not all) of the companies that specialize in rebuilding vintage gauges. This requirement will apply to later Series 1.5 and all Series 2 E Types that do not have a tach generator on the rear of the intake camshaft.
