Earlier today it was my privilege to supply a CJ5 five speed transmission for a very special Jaguar, the ex Dick Protheroe alloy bodied XK120 racer known as "The Ancient Egyptian". The current owner sent me a link to Dick Protheroe's four page, hand typed autobiography. Written in 1964, two years before his tragically early death, never has so much derring-do and automotive name dropping been squeezed into such a short passage of text.I give you Dick Protheroe, one of the great gentleman racers of the 20th century.
