Quail Lodge Rally
This car was built by Proteus Sports Cars in England in the Spring of 2001 and it was shipped brand new to San Francisco in May 2001. The car has taken part in several classic rallies, including the California Classic Rallye ( twice) and has been greatly admired by all who have seen it. Details as follows:
- 1953 replica with full aluminium body
- British Racing Green
- 3.4 litre engine, C Type specification
- Triple Webers
- Four speed all syncro gearbox with 0.861 overdrive on top gear
- Rear axle 3.31
- Gearbox and rear axle built by Alan George of England
- 54 spoke wheels with Dunlop Racing Tyres 600x16
- 20 gallon baffled fuel tank
- Disc brakes fitted all round
- Dark green leather seats fitted with Luke racing harnesses
- Tonneau cover
- This car has done about 3000 miles from new and at present is being stored in the Petersen Automotive Museum in Beverly Hills, CA
- The car cost new $96,000 last year, shipping to California added about $7,500
As I am living in England I do not get to use it much so have decided to sell! It is a wonderful touring car, having a (removable) luggage rack on the back and it has twice been shown in the Concours on Rodeo. It is a great car for classic rallies!Asking price: $85,000
