One of just 20 cars built by Shelby American to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the historic 1-2-3 finish at Le Mans in 1966. In 2016 Shelby American announced the production of 20 continuation series MkIIs available in three color combinations - black/silver, blue/white and red/white, the same liveries as the 1966 race cars. This particular 50th Anniversary GT40 MkII, which is car number 9 of the series of 20, is painted in the livery campaigned by drivers Dan Gurney and Jerry Grant. The car also features the famous "Gurney Bubble" extension to the roof section of the driver's side door.

The 50th Anniversary series cars were built in collaboration with Superformance and featured a mighty 427 CI engine mated to a five speed transaxle. The engines used by Shelby for the anniversary cars were reportedly rated between 550 and 750 HP. The cars were constructed using the original style steel monocoque chassis that is 163 inches long and 40 inches high, precisely the same dimensions as the original cars. Shelby American claimed the monocoque chassis was interchangeable with the original 1966 Mk II. They also advertised that at least two thirds of the component parts on the 50th Anniversary cars were interchangeable with the original cars, including identical gas tanks and pin-drive Halibrand wheels. Externally, the 50th Anniversary cars are virtually identical to the originals. Internally, the cabin resembles the original closely but benefits from creature comforts such as air conditioning and an adjustable pedal box.

Marketed by Shelby American as "continuation" models, each car in the 50th Anniversary series was allocated a Shelby chassis number in the same GT40P sequence as the original cars. The 427 engines were also stamped and matched to the chassis number. CSGT40P2058, which is listed in the Shelby Register, is a fantastic tribute to both Dan Gurney and Jerry Grant, as well as the winning Ford GT40 program of 1966.
The car has only covered approximately 500 miles since completion and is virtually unmarked. It is freshly serviced, inspected, registered and titled as a road car.

Available for a small fraction of the initial build cost, this car is priced to sell!
