1975 Rolls Royce Corniche Coupe Elegant, high quality driver level car |
|
Picture yourself as Steve McQueen in The Thomas Crown Affair..
This is an extremely elegant, driver quality car that presents exceptionally well. Although not done deliberately, the photographs below make the car look a little better than it really is. The paint actually has several flaws, including some minor lifting and a few chips and scratches - although it obviously remains extremely presentable. I have included some close-up photos of some of the minor paint issues.
The interior is as good as it looks in the photos - it is absolutely beautiful. The leather is in spectacular condition given its age, and the door panels, dash and headliner are also in truly excellent shape. The ultra-clean cabin has a glorious aroma of leather and wood.
Mechanically, the car runs and drives very well. Within the last few hundred miles we have completely rebuilt the cylinder heads, with all associated machine work performed in the Team CJ engine shop. We used top quality, custom made stainless steel valves, together with a complete set of new OEM push rods, new guides and new seals, etc. We also had the brake pumps and brake switches rebuilt by a Rolls Royce specialist (at a cost of $4,000), replaced the transmission filter and seal, serviced the air conditioning (which now works perfectly), installed a new section of exhaust, replaced the ignition plug wires, installed a new heater valve, new water pump, removed and flushed the radiator, completely rebuilt the SU carbs and replaced both brake master cylinders.
At the time of writing, the only thing on the car that doesn't work is the emergency brake, which is apparently missing a piece of linkage.
You would be proud to turn up anywhere in this elegant Rolls Royce.
