This is a very rare opportunity to acquire an E Type roadster that has received a total nut and bolt restoration in the Classic Jaguar workshops. Built in the summer of 1967, chassis number 1E 15812 would have been one of the last of the Series One cars. It apparently began life with open headlamps, although it came to us with enclosed lenses, which is obviously how we restored the car.

Finished in its original color of Opalescent Silver Grey, this fabulous, matching numbers E Type is in virtually new condition throughout. With around 1,000 miles since its completion, the car has been driven just enough to be thoroughly sorted, but remains in absolutely stunning condition inside and out.

No cost was spared during the restoration process, which featured a host of Team CJ performance and reliability upgrades. We built this car as a driver - and accordingly it drives spectacularly well. Some of the mechanical upgrades include a Stage One engine, a CJ5/600 five speed transmission, polished stainless steel headers, uprated suspension, brakes, steering, cooling and ignition. This E Type is very fast and handles like a new car. We doubt you could find a better driving E Type anywhere.

In keeping with all Classic Jaguar restorations, the bodywork has been completed to industry leading standards, with superb fit and finish throughout. All panel gaps are perfect and all body lines are arrow straight. The deep red Suffolk & Turley interior offers a wonderful contrast to the Opalescent Silver Grey paint. All of the chrome and brightwork fits impeccably and has been triple plated to the highest possible standards. The Retro Sound stereo system includes MP3 and iPod compatibility, with discreet connections plumbed into the glovebox.

This absolutely beautiful E Type roadster retains its original matching number engine. Although it currently has a five speed gearbox installed, the sale also includes the original matching number four speed transmission, which has been fully rebuilt in the CJ workshop.

The market for well restored E Types remains extremely strong, with several recent sales exceeding $300,000, and a new world record being set for a 1966 roadster that sold for a staggering $467,500.

The car offered here is a beautifully restored E Type that can be bought for less than the cost of the restoration. It has been tastefully upgraded to provide the new owner with one of the very best driving E Types on the planet.
