These high quality, driver level E Types represent excellent value in today's classic car market. Available for less than half the cost of a totally restored car, and for a third of the cost of a total restoration, the full E Type experience can be enjoyed at a very reasonable investment level.

This particular 1962 roadster was the subject of some major restoration work that was completed in 2000. The work apparently included new outer sills, door skins, a brand new bonnet and a bare metal repaint. The car was completely rebuilt mechanically, including the matching number engine and drivetrain, and a five speed transmission was installed. The original matching number transmission is included in the sale. All of the chrome trim was either rechromed or replaced, and new Dayton wire wheels were installed. The interior, including a new canvas convertible top, was also replaced.

Clearly this car has not done many miles since the work described above was completed. The car still presents very nicely, although it is by no means a fresh restoration. Cosmetically, the panel gaps are the weakest aspect of this car, and are not what you would expect to see in a  professionally restored E Type. Having said that, you can see from the photos below that this is a handsome car that anyone would be proud to drive. The paint still shines brightly and all of the chrome is in excellent condition. The Dayton wire wheels look virtually new. The glass is in excellent condition, including the Triplex windscreen that was installed during the restoration process.

We have been looking after this car in the CJ Workshops for its Austin owner for the last five years or so. As well as all routine maintenance, we have also upgraded the following components:

As you might expect, this is a very strong running and driving E Type. The previous owner has not scrimped on its upkeep and the next owner will be buying a great driving, thoroughly sorted, properly maintained car.

Price - $75,000
