This is a great opportunity to acquire a totally rust free Jaguar S Type that has been mechanically rebuilt from stem to stern. The previous long time owner had the entire drivetrain professionally rebuilt and there is less than 3,000 miles on the engine, transmission, suspension, brakes and rear end. The car was originally a 3.4 but during the course of the mechanical rebuild it was upgraded to 3.8 liters, using the engine from another S Type. The original cylinder head and a bunch of useful spares, including a second all synchro four speed manual overdrive transmission, are all included at the asking price.

This car drives very well. It has excellent oil pressure, runs cool and the all synchro transmission (including fully functional overdrive) shifts like new. The gauges have been rebuilt and all are in good working order. The suspension was rebuilt at the same time as the drivetrain and received new bushings and Koni shocks, front and rear. This is a car that could be used as a daily driver and should provide its new owner with luxurious transportation for many years to come.

Most of the chrome on the car has been replated and is generally in excellent condition. The hide seat covers (front and rear) and front carpets were replaced about 15 years ago and are still in very good condition, showing minimal wear. The rear carpets and the headliner is original. The headliner is a little stained, but still quite presentable. The wood throughout the interior of the car has obviously been refinished and is in very nice condition. The body is completely free of any corrosion, including beneath the floor boards. It is very rare to find a Jaguar of this vintage in such solid condition.

The paint is starting to show its age and there are a few minor scratches, as well as areas where old paint has shrunk back a little. Overall, the paint is presentable for a driver condition car. It still looks great and extremely smart from 10 feet away, but really isn't as nice as the photographs make it appear. This is not deliberate on our part, merely a function of Internet photos - cars are almost never as nice as they look in photos!

This car will be fully serviced and shod with a new set of tires before it is delivered to its new owner.
