This is a great opportunity to purchase a 289, four speed 1965 Mustang 2+2 fastback for restoration. An original A Code 289 fastback, this car is pretty much all there and could be put back on the road with very little effort or expense. The engine and four speed transmission are currently out of the car, but are included. The short block has been completely rebuilt and mildly upgraded. The heads are installed to the rebuilt block, although we understand that the heads were not rebuilt. The car was running and driving before an engine problem which led to the bottom end rebuild.

A Holley 4 barrel carburetor is included, as well as an Edelbrock intake manifold and a new distributor. The sale also includes a number of other useful spare parts, including a brand new gas tank.

The original interior is intact and much of it is quite respectable and usable. The wheels appear to be period Shelby Kragers. One of the Shelby caps is missing. This car is equipped with power steering and power brakes. The original color scheme for the car was Wimbledon white with red interior.

The body does have some corrosion in the typical places, the rear wheel wells have been patched, and the forward floor pans have some rust, as shown in the photographs below. Overall, however, the body is quite straight and presentable. The inner fenders and shock towers in the engine bay are extremely solid. There is some typical rust in the trunk compartment.

Price: $9,500
