Skirt clearance:

4 = 0.002"
5 = 0.002"
6 = 0.002"

 
 Align honing in progress
 
Main housing size after align hone: 2.9165"
Deck height 0.016"

Rods:

Fully reconditioned, wide blade (XJ) rods
ARP rod bolts and nuts torqued to 55 ft/lbs with 30 weight oil on threads.

Sleeves:
New stepped "top hat" sleeves throughout

Crankshaft/block:

Main bearings @ 0.010" oversized
Rod bearings @ 0.010" oversized
Front main seal - upgraded to Teflon
Main bearing lock washers upgraded to ARP
New A&E std oil pump

Cylinder head:

All new intake and exhaust seats installed (0.005" interference fit)
All new guides
Cyl head cc = 94 cc
All new valves
Large (1 7/8") intake valves have seals retro fitted
All new (later style) keepers, split collets and spring retainers on intake side
Valve lash - 0.010" intake, 0.010" exhaust
Tappets are OE (new)
Intake valve stem to guide clearance = 0.013" to 0.014"
Exhaust valve stem to guide clearance = 0.013" to 0.014"
Spring pressure: Closed 85 lbs, open at 0.400 lift, 180lbs

Shim allocation as follows:

(Intake) #1 .129" #2 .126" #3 .125" #4 .118" #5 .120" #6 .126"
(Exhaust) #1 .148" #2 .145" #3 .147" #4 .149" #5 .141" #6 .141"

Head studs:

ARP (uprated) torqued to 60 ft/lbs with 30 weight oil on threads. Hylomar on lower threads where studs installed in block at 27 ft/lbs.
