1967 E Type 2+2
Incredibly original Oregon car

Year: 1967
Model: E Type 2+2
Pale Primrose/Black

This vehicle is now sold

This 1967 E Type was purchased new 8/8/67 from the Portland, OR BMC dealership. A friend of mine owned the car in Salem for a few years (into the early 70s) until it was sold to a man in The Dalles (East OR) in 1976. In the following years leading up to my purchase in April 2001, the car covered only 1,143 miles. The odometer now shows 65,889 - as evidenced by the Oregon registration every two years since 1976, the mileage is original.
"Time Warp" is probably an overused phrase, but it truly applies in this instance. I know E Types very well and this car is exceptionally original and well preserved. The paint pre-dates 1976, and may be original. The interior is all original, and very nice. The headliner is excellent. All the gauges are sharp, clean and have no discoloration. I can find no evidence that the car has ever been hit. There is no bondo in the bonnet mouth or in the rear. There is not a single rust bubble anywhere on the car. The doors do not sag and the front license plate bracket still works. The panel fit is just about perfect. The spare tire is the original Dunlop RS5. Even the ignition wires are original. The car comes with the (excellent) original steering wheel, not the Nardi shown in the photographs.
Since purchasing the car I have rebuilt the triple carbs, adjusted the valves, rebuilt the waterpump (precautionary), replaced the header tank and the hoses, had the radiator rodded and flushed, changed the oil and filter, tuned it up, put on a new set of tires.....and nothing else. The car idles and runs perfectly and has excellent oil pressure. The paint is very good. I've driven the car to Portland, a 7 hour round trip, without incident.

Asking price: $19,500 Sold!
